Southwest has announced a limited time program to allow travelers to use their Rapid Reward Points to redeem a voucher that may be used for a TSA PreCheck application.

“You’ll be able to cash in 9,000 of your Rapid Rewards points,” said Joe Mirander of Southwest Airlines. “Depending on where you actually use those points towards a voucher for TSA PreCheck.”

TSA lines across the country have been under fire these last few months, with many travelers citing the wait times as the reasons they missed flights. If you are a frequent Southwest flier with the available Rapid Rewards Points, this is a very good investment. TSA PreCheck, if your application is accepted, covers a period of 5 years.
